Summer & Winter Programs
For the fun of learning!
Our summer and winter programs give students the chance to learn more, dig into what they’re into. We invite curiosity with sessions that surprise and challenge – learning for the fun of learning is a great way to discover more about who you are too.
Exploration & enrichment summer program
The KIS summer program is all about exploration, connection, and collaboration. And because the summer program is designed by KIS teachers for KIS students, activities feel especially relevant to current student interests. We offer courses for early childhood, lower and upper elementary school, middle school, and high school. For summertime flexibility we offer two distinct two-week sessions.
- Early childhood, elementary, and middle school courses focus on adventure, creative expression, and exploration.
- High school courses enrich academic and creative skills and knowledge through unique seminar and workshop experiences.
- We invite new students to join summer program too – make friends, meet teachers, and get to know the campus before the first day of school!

MIT-KIS winter program
The KIS winter program has partnered with the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI) for over a decade to deliver STEM workshops for KIS middle and high school students. Current MIT students lead workshops that engage and challenge through research, labs, and projects that focus on how science, technology, engineering, and math help create real world solutions. Something that makes these workshops extra great is the emphasis on the human element in problem solving. We want our students to realize they can find answers, that their ideas and questions will open and affirm next steps in STEM fields.
- Middle and high school workshops are offered the first week of January.
- At the start of the second semester, MIT student leaders are on campus to work with teachers and students across divisions and host afterschool workshops.
