Activities & Athletics
Get involved at KIS
The KIS co-curricular program centers the idea that every student can learn, grow, and succeed. Diverse opportunities, healthy risk, positive mentorship, and expert coaching guide the activities and athletics experience. Our co-curricular program creates points of connection that build community.
Elementary ASAs
Our elementary afterschool activities (ASAs) are awesome. Really. The majority of our elementary families register for ASAs each season. Community partnership and student feedback keep the program strong.
- We offer a variety of activities across categories like outdoor recreation, STEM and design, art, music and theater, academic enrichment, World Languages and culture.
- Athletics include ballet, rock climbing, ice hockey, ice skating, taekwondo, tchoukball, soccer, swimming, and basketball.
- Weekend jamborees invite elementary students to participate in a day of play and fun competition.

Sustainable model for your growth
Elementary ASAs make way for our middle school Learn to Fly and Learn to Soar programs. We link opportunities across divisions to ensure program sustainability. Many of our high school participants credit their earlier activities and athletics experiences with their decision to remain involved.
We want all students to find a way to participate in co-curricular activities. Your school experiences outside of a classroom are important to your growth – and what you learn through activities and athletics will show up in your classroom too. Think collaboration, perseverance, creative problem solving.

Middle school co-curriculars
All middle schoolers participate in schoolday clubs and a majority also choose to participate in additional co-curricular activities. The Learn to Fly path focuses on skillbuilding and teamwork essentials while the Learn to Soar path emphasizes skills refinement and positive competition.
