We want all students to have a safe ride to and from school. Students are assigned a seat and must wear their seatbelt while on the bus. Students must also respect and listen to the bus driver and monitor. Before leaving the bus, students should check that they have their belongings and leave their space clean.
Students board the bus using their mini-ID card to tag their entry. Drivers may not wait for late student riders. Please arrange transportation if your child misses their bus.
Afternoon school buses depart campus at 3:10 p.m. The activities buses depart at 5:20 p.m. Elementary students may not ride the 5:20 p.m. bus. School buses cannot depart KIS for afternoon drop off if any student is missing. If you wish to have your child ride another bus or take car transportation in the afternoon, please submit a bus transportation form no later than noon the day of, and notify the school administrative assistant as well so we can notify your child, their teacher, and bus driver of the change.
Disruptive behavior, eating, drinking, and chewing gum are not allowed on the bus. Dangerous items such as knives and lighters are not allowed on the bus.
KIS is not responsible for the loss of any personal items left on the school bus.
A principal will follow up with a student and their parent/guardian regarding any bus behavior or safety concerns. If a student is suspended from bus service, no refund for that period is available.
