Leadership
We are living and learning in incredible times, and it is vitally important for our students that this school and the educational experiences we deliver, evolves too.
Dear KIS Families,
I am truly honored to be your new School Director, and incredibly proud to be back on the KIS campus seven years after I first visited the school with WASC. Since then, I have watched KIS continue to grow and excel, and through the combined efforts of students, families and staff, the school continues to forge its reputation as one of Korea’s most reputable, forward-thinking international schools.
As school director, the immediate challenge is maintaining that forward momentum to ensure KIS continues offering the highest standards of teaching and learning and a positive student-centered school experience. At the same time, we also need to set coordinates for the future.
We are living and learning in incredible times, and it is vitally important for our students that this school and the educational experiences we deliver, evolves too. For me, KIS has always been a school where progressive thinking and new ideas have been encouraged. For example, years ago I witnessed this school pioneer design-driven practices and programs that inspired its young people to pursue interests and curiosities around coding, engineering and robotics. Fast forward to today, and those early labs and makerspaces were actually prototypes for the kind of learning spaces and programs that are now expected in most international schools. That tradition of innovation is something to be very proud of and I am excited to be in a school where designing our future remains the mantra.
