Summer Fun! Campus Renovations

Every summer our facilities team manages campus renovations and refreshes that keep KIS spaces set for great teaching and learning. 

This summer KIS reimagined the junior kindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade classrooms, bringing light, warmth, and movement into the spaces. Design elements like vertical whiteboards and sliding doors on shared walls make collaboration easy. Practical, versatile furniture allows classes to transition smoothly from one activity to the next. We think of the environment as a teacher. Along with teachers and parents, learning spaces inspire student growth. 

The middle and high school choir room also got a refresh to create the best acoustics for our student vocalists. A raised ceiling, acoustic panels, sound absorbing flooring, and new lighting make the space feel ready for a song. 

Sometimes the fun of returning from summer break is the surprise of just how much the facilities team manages to finish in the short summer months – across campus, learning spaces have new paint, fixtures, furniture, and lighting. KIS leadership and the facilities team are intentional about any change to the learning environment. And at the start of this school year, we are excited for students and teachers to enjoy their new spaces.
