1. Parents complete their child’s Phoenix Green Pass health questionnaire each morning. Please take a screenshot of the accepted pass: students must show the confirmation to board the bus and enter campus. School nurses are checking daily and will contact the individual family if a student has not filled out Phoenix Green Pass.
2. Parents monitor their child’s health and check their child’s temperature each morning before completing the Phoenix Green Pass. If a child has the following COVID-19 symptoms, they may NOT come to campus. Please notify the school and contact a COVID-19 screening center for testing. COVID-19 symptoms include:
   
   - Fever of 37.5°C or higher
   - Sore throat
   - Runny nose
   - Cough
   - Loss of sense of taste or smell
   - Chills
   - Difficulty breathing

3. Students may not come to campus and should stay at home in the following cases:
   ●  If they have COVID-19 symptoms (listed above)
   ●  If they are diagnosed with COVID-19 or received a positive Rapid Antigen Test (at-home kit or hospital-administered RAT)
   ●  If they are in self quarantine
   ●  If they or any member of the household is waiting for results of a COVID-19 test (Includes RAT test)

   • Parents report these details to the nurse’s office as soon as possible via email at nurse@kis.or.kr or 031-789-0556/0543/0549. Students may come to campus
     AFTER handing in the required documents and being cleared by the nurses.

4. Students may come to campus in the following cases AFTER handing in the required documents and being cleared by the nurses :
   ● If a student has COVID-19 symptoms: A student can come back to campus after symptoms improve by handing in negative Rapid Antigen test results from the clinic or doctor’s note
   ● If a student’s household member confirmed positive:  A student can come back to campus after handing in PCR test results initially and RAT results on the 6-7th day of household member in quarantine
      1) If a student is fully vaccinated (2 weeks passed after the second dose)
      2) If a student has a negative result issued within 2 days prior to each desired date of school attendance
      3) If a student has immediately separated from the person in self-quarantine since receiving the quarantine notification
   ✻ Please note that the person in self-quarantine must follow the self-quarantine regulations by staying in a separate room and having no contact with other members of the household
   ●  If a student’s household member has a confirmed positive: A student who is under passive monitoring (*Passive monitoring requirements: negative PCR test result, fully vaccinated, no symptoms) can be on campus

5. Students must wear KF80 or KF94 masks to and from school, and while on campus. Parents are responsible for providing each child with masks to wear on campus. Students should bring two (2) extra masks in a resealable bag to school each day. Students should also bring a personal water bottle, a bottle of hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes in their backpacks each day. Additional masks and hand sanitizer are available as needed at every entry point, classroom, on the bus, and at the nurse’s office.

6. Students walk individually through entry lanes for a temperature check when they arrive on campus. Student temperatures are also checked by teachers before lunch.

If a student is sick, a parent should notify the building principal’s office before 8:00 a.m.

The student’s absence is excused if:

1. The student or a household member is testing for COVID-19
2. The student has COVID-19 symptoms, a confirmed case of COVID-19, is in self-quarantine or required quarantine, or is self-isolating. Student absence may be affected by the health authority’s decision when to end the quarantine period
3. The student has a household member who is a confirmed case of COVID-19, undergoing self-quarantine or required quarantine. Student absence may be affected by the health authority’s decision when to end the quarantine period
4. The student is high-risk with underlying diseases such as asthma or other respiratory issues
5. The student presents other potential risks for infection

Before returning to campus, a student’s absence is confirmed and excused with documentation approved by the school principal. Documents include relevant testing paperwork, hospitalization records, doctor’s diagnosis and case note, and prescription. Screenshots or photos are allowed. The school principal may request additional verification. A parent must confirm that the submitted paperwork shows treatment and resolution. The KIS school nurse will contact the family daily to see if the child is doing well at home. The student must also complete a daily health check survey upon arrival to campus.

1. The bus driver and bus monitor board the bus if they are free from COVID-19 symptoms, including a fever over 37.5°C.
2. All school buses are cleaned and disinfected in the morning and afternoon, before pick up and after drop off. The bus is fully equipped with sanitizing equipment.
3. At the bus stop, students line up with a distance of at least 1 meter between each student. Elementary students MUST have a parent or guardian with them at the bus stop.
4. Students are allowed to take the bus to school if their temperature is less than 37.5°C. Temperatures are checked before boarding the bus, and a student with a fever higher than 37.5°C is not allowed to board the bus.
5. If an elementary student’s temperature is high and they need to return home, they must be escorted home by an adult. Secondary students are required to inform their parents if they are not allowed to board the bus, and must return home.
6. Students must show the Phoenix Green Pass to the bus monitor each morning. ES parents show their child’s Phoenix Green Pass.
7. Students must use the provided hand sanitizer before boarding the bus.
8. Students must wear a face mask at all times: before, during, and after the bus ride.
9. The bus monitor ensures that students walk directly from the bus arrival point to their classroom in the building where their first class takes place
10. During parent drop-off, parents are not allowed to enter the school building. Parents drop off and pick up their children at the B3 parking lot.
11. At B3, a student or parent shows the Phoenix Green Pass to staff.
12. ​​​​​​​Students move along through entry lanes for a temperature check and to sanitize their hands. Students need their ID cards to gain access to entry to the building.   School staff ensure that students get to their classroom or recess area safely.

1. Desks and chairs are spaced to maximize physical distancing in all classrooms.
2. Classrooms are frequently ventilated by opening windows for 10-15 minutes at a time throughout the day including before and after class and during recess and lunchtime.
3. During warm months, air conditioning is used with windows closed. Rooms are still ventilated at least once every hour during class and lunch and recess.
4. Poor air quality may prevent frequent ventilation. Then air purifiers are used.
5. Because PE classes require physical activity, PE teachers consider the level of aerobic or anaerobic class activity to ensure that students do not overheat and can exercise safely while wearing a mask.
6. Students wear masks at all times except during lunch.
7. Teachers monitor students’ health conditions throughout the day.
8. Thermometers, hand sanitizers, and extra masks are available in all classrooms, offices, and other common areas.
9. Some hallways and stairs are set up for one-way walking to avoid face-to-face contact.
10. Arrow markings on some hallways indicate which side to walk on.

1. Each class receives a demonstration on how to properly wash hands and use sanitizer, and properly wear a mask.
2. Everyone on campus frequently washes or sanitizes their hands.
3. Students must bring their own water bottles to school. Students may not share cups, water bottles, or food with each other.
4. If a student must remove their mask for a short period, they remove the mask by pulling it down from the metal nose bridge and securing the mask under the chin.
5. Students dispose of masks properly in the provided trash bins with lids.
6. Hand sanitizer and extra masks are available in all classrooms, offices, and other common areas.

1. Foodservice personnel wears personal protective equipment. All personnel will undergo health checks including temperature checks twice daily. Non-essential staff does not have access to the kitchen
2. Teachers check student temperatures before going to lunch.
3. Students and staff must wash or sanitize their hands before lunch. There are hand washing/hand sanitizing stations near the cafeteria.
4. Students have a specific lunchtime to prevent overcrowding in the cafeteria.
5. Students sit in designated areas to maintain physical distancing. Available seats are clearly marked and acrylic partitions minimize direct contact with others.
6. Following each mealtime, the tables are cleaned and disinfected by staff.
7. Staff closely supervise lunchtime to ensure students follow safety protocols including physical distancing and good hygiene.
8. Students should avoid talking while eating. Students may not share food with each other.

1. Campus common areas are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected frequently each day. Common areas include: school corridors, staircase handrails, multi-purpose room (MPR), elevators, and other common-use facilities.
2. Building lobbies, main passages, classrooms, libraries, and gyms are also disinfected daily and ventilated with exterior air. A disinfection schedule at classroom and specialist room entrances tracks cleanings.
3. Automatic hand sanitizer stations are installed at each school entrance, each floor, and main points of the building.
4. Disinfectant wipes are available in each classroom. Wipedown routines happen between every class.
5. Bathrooms are disinfected frequently each day, including when students are present on campus.
6. School buses are disinfected several times daily.
7. Shared items such as laptops, computers, computer keyboards, iPads, and books are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each use.
8. In addition to the sanitation measures noted above, a certified, contracted cleaning company regularly completes concentrated disinfection of campus.
9. If anyone presents COVID-19 symptoms on campus, a certified contractor completes concentrated disinfection of campus.

1. The school nurse office remains open during the school day to treat common ailments in accordance with normal school procedures.
2. An additional EMT nurse is available to help students with COVID-19 symptoms.
3. If a student is suspected to have a fever and/or other COVID-19 symptoms, they are moved to a temporary observation room (located near the B3 parking lot) and the student’s parents are immediately informed. A parent must pick up the student and take them to a COVID-19 screening center for testing.
4. If a student’s COVID-19 test result is negative or if a student has not been tested under the recommendation from a doctor, they should stay home and rest, closely monitored until associated symptoms resolve.
5. Once a student is symptom-free, they may return to campus. First, a parent must provide medical documentation or other requested documents to the school nurse and building principal office.
6. If the school has a confirmed COVID-19 case, the school will immediately contact the GOE and Bundang Public Health Center. The GOE and Bundang Health Office determines which grades, classes, or any individuals will be impacted after having an epidemiological investigation. KIS is instructed by GOE and Bundang Health Office for any further guidance regarding our ability to have early dismissal, shift to virtual learning, resume school, etc.
7. ​​​​​​​Locations, where used by a student with COVID-19 symptoms or confirmed patient, will be disinfected by a certified contractor.​​​​​​​

Visitor access to campus is restricted, except for urgent business. All visitors, including parents and guardians, need permission from the building principal to enter. All visitors must submit an application form requesting campus access prior to their visit.

No visitors, including parents and guardians, are permitted on campus without prior access approval and an appointment. 

Once you have access approval and an appointment, you must:

• Please wear a mask
• Enter campus at the B3 lobby
• Give your ID and access approval form to the security guard
• Have your temperature checked and complete a health survey
• Wear the visitor’s badge and report directly to the appropriate building
• Check in at the building principal’s reception 
• After your appointment, return directly to B3 to sign out and receive your ID

Following this procedure ensures our campus is a safe and healthy place for all students, faculty, and visitors.
