KIS successfully completed a lockdown drill this morning. We periodically hold safety drills to ensure everyone’s safety. A lockdown drill prepares the school for the unlikely possibility of an intruder who is a threat to students, staff, or visitors on the school campus.
This drill is common world-wide because of some incidents with either mentally unstable or extremist individuals who have attacked school campuses. Our Safety Committee planned and conducted this drill. This is unlikely in Korea because guns are not available and because Korea is a relatively safe culture. However, KIS will always strive to be prepared for any contingency even if it is unlikely.
