Dear Student and Parent,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to a brand new year at Korea International School Middle School. It is the goal of every staff member at KIS to ensure your child receives the ultimate in challenging curriculum, social support, and extracurricular opportunities. As you know, grades 6-8 represent an immense time of transition for students and their parents. Moving from the elementary setting to a seven period class day is a major growth in terms of independence and individual instruction. With that in mind, you have my personal assurance we will do everything in our power to make KIS a positive and productive academic institution for our students. Additionally, a high level of importance with regards to student experience is placed on taking a holistic approach to education and fostering social development. It is the mission of this middle school to continue the excellent education offered at KIS Elementary School and prepare students for the important transition to KIS High School.

Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the information provided in this booklet. One of the most important tenets of a successful educational experience is strong communication between home and school. I hope the enclosed information will be the first step in making you feel supported and valued as a member of the KIS family.
