November 16, 2009

Dear KIS Parents:

I am writing to report that we have three students at KIS Gaepo confirmed with the Influenza A HINI Flu Virus. As per the new policy that has been administered by the KCDC, when a child is diagnosed with HINI they will remain home for seven days. Their siblings, however, may attend school regularly if they do not exhibit any symptoms.

As stated in the school’s latest HINI policy issued on November 9, 2009, we will not be closing any classrooms at KIS and thus, classes will continue as scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday, November 17, 2009. We will consider closing only if a significant amount of students in a school building are diagnosed. This would be the case if we had a widespread outbreak of confirmed cases only.

Thank you for your support and patience throughout this entire process.

Sincerely,

Lara Manasfi
